ShutterSmith offers a range of shutter styles across the collection to ensure that we have the perfect shutter for any type of window.

We can also create bespoke shutters for those unique window sizes often found in period properties. Rest assured, whatever the shape of your window, we will have a shutter solution for it.

Full Height

This is by far our customers’ favourite shutter option – full height panels covering the entire window. Full height shutters can have a divider rail or split in louvre controls so you can operate the slats above and below it independently to control light.

Full height shutters are fantastic for insulation, privacy and noise control and are best suited for tall windows, French or patio doors. They can however be adapted to fit any type of window.

Shutters also provide fantastic insulation during the cold winter months, whilst in summer keeping rooms cool from the sun’s rays.

Based on the old fashioned saloon doors, the Tier-on-Tier style offers a separate top tier that opens independently from the bottom tier. This gives you the added benefit of increasing light into a room by having the top tier open, whilst maintaining privacy by leaving the bottom tier closed.

Tier-on-Tier shutters can be customised to have the split between the tiers lining up with your exact window, or at any position you require for the desired look.

Tier-on-Tier also offers great protection against the British weather – helping to keep in heat during the winter whilst stopping your rooms from overheating in the summer.

Cafe Style

Café style shutters are designed to cover only part of your window offering a lovely continental feel. This chic design allows you to enjoy the privacy shutters provide whilst still benefiting from the sunlight coming into your room.

This shutter style is perfect for kitchens and road facing rooms where privacy is key. They also work as a decorative element to your window and are a fantastic way to enhance existing window features such as stained glass or low arches.

Bay Window

Bay windows are extremely popular in the UK and ShutterSmith offers a number of bay shutter options that look stylish and add real value to your home.

Choose from shutters that go across the expanse of the bay using custom-made bay posts, right through to separate shutters that perfectly fit each section of your bay window.

Bay window shutters fit the architecture of the windows themselves, seamlessly blending with the décor of your  room to provide an exquisite and fashionable addition to any home.

Special Shapes

No matter the size or shape of window – we can provide a shutter to suit. Shutters can be made to fit any speciality window – from stunning arches, circular port holes, gothic church windows, and angular triangles. ShutterSmith pride themselves on finding a shutter solution for any window.

Tracked Shutters

Rather than fitting shutters in the usual manner, these tracked shutters slide on a track. These are an ideal choice for large glass expanses and ShutterSmith offers numerous different options for tracked installations.

We can provide shutter panels that bypass and slide past each other, bi-folding tracks that can be made to almost any configuration required, options for both inside and outside the recess, and clever tracked shutters that sit together with our standard frames to blend seamlessly with your other shutter installations.

Tracked shutters can be provided in all of our shutter ranges, with the exception of the Hollywood range.

Shutters and Shade

If light bleed is a consideration for you, these shaded shutters will need your needs as they are fitted with a pleated blind behind the shutter panel. When combined with our double insert F frame too, this product reduces light exposure into your room.

Shutter & Shade is available as part of our Seattle and Montana ranges.

Solid Shutters

An alternative option to fully louvered panels , solid shutters are exactly as their name suggests. If you are looking for a sense of Victorian style and glamour then solid shutters may be the option for you. These solid panel shutters do not have operational louvres so need to be opened in full to let light in. However they come into their own at night by offering a minimal light bleed.

As they do not have louvres, solid panels also offer increased insulation and therefore are perfect for older properties or single glazed windows. Some customers even use our solid shutters as room dividers when combined with a track system.

Due to their construction, solid panels are only available in our wood ranges.

French Door Shutters

Shutters are compatible with most doors and a great way of enhancing the look of your shutter whilst still being able to operate the doors behind is to add a French door cut out. These beautiful cut outs are available in several options to really complement the existing décor.

This allows you to experience the stylish look and variable light control that shutters offer over any door aperture. As with all our shutter ranges, French door shutters insulate from heat loss in winter whilst keeping rooms cooler in summer.

Due to their highly bespoke nature French door cut outs are only available in our wood ranges.
